Speaking to The Mirror, Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty has spoken about how he needs to get himself in the shape for the European Championships this summer, which means a move away from Carrow Road.
Despite firing Northern Ireland to the European Championships with seven goals in qualifying, Alex Neil has not given Lafferty a single start this season. The forward has had a tiny number of substitute appearances, in which he scored one against West Brom and looked a threat.
He is currently behind Cameron Jerome, Dieumerci Mbokani and Patrick Bamford in the pecking order to start up front. This has meant his game time, as said previously, is virtually non-existent.
Lafferty needs to be playing games so he can be as fit as possible ahead of the summer tournament. The Football League’s emergency loan window shuts next week and the striker will be hoping that he can push a move over the line before then.
I’m doing all I can to make sure that I’m in the best possible shape for Euro 2016.
I want to play. Rangers and Palermo, my old clubs, are two teams I would definitely go back to if the opportunity arose.
