Who’s the dangerman? Manchester City (H)
Norwich host Manchester City this weekend and come into the match on a run of ten matches without win, nine of those matches ended in defeat.
Manchester City have an incredible squad that has been assembled by spending copious amounts of cash over the last few years. They have, arguably, the best squad in the entire Premier League.
With that being said, it is very hard to pick out just one player that could cause Norwich problems. You have the likes of Yaya Toure, Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Kelechi Iheanacho, David Silva and others.
However, I have gone for…… Raheem Sterling.
Although his stats this season almost mirror that of Norwich’s very own Nathan Redmond, there is no doubting that Sterling is one of the best wingers in the Premier League, if not Europe.
His pace and skill will surely cause havoc against the joint-worst defence in the league this season. Sterling is a very direct player and his running could leave the Norwich defenders in sixes and sevens.
Ivo Pinto is likely to start on the right side of defence and will need to have the game of his life to be able to keep the English winger quiet. Pinto joined Norwich in January but hasn’t won over too many admirers, a good game against Sterling could start to sway people in his favour.
Pinto will need to stay tight to Sterling and make sure he doesn’t show Sterling on the outside, where he could put crosses into the box. As Sterling plays on the left, as a right footer, it will be harder for Pinto to show him a side to go as the winger has the ability to go either. Pinto will need to be agile and alert to stop the threat at source.
