Striker to leave if Norwich are relegated
According to TMW, Norwich City striker Dieumerci Mbokani will not join the club on a permanent basis if the club are relegated to the Championship at the end of this season.
Mbokani is currently on a season-long loan from Ukranian side Dynamo Kiev, with Norwich having an option in the deal to sign the forward for £5.5m.
However, it doesn’t look like Norwich will be allowed to use that option with effect as Mbokani has told the manager he is not willing to sign for the club if they are playing second tier football next season.
The 30-year-old striker has scored four goals this season, making him the top scoring striker at the club ahead of Cameron Jerome, who has three. His goals came against Leicester, Newcastle, Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Mbokani if very good at holding the ball up and his finishing has been good when chances have come his way. However, he has failed to nail down a starting place and not signing him in the summer may not be a massive blow to Alex Neil’s plans.
