Norwich host Chelsea on Tuesday night and it is going to be a very tough test for the Canaries.
Chelsea had a poor start to the season but are currently on an 11 game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Alex Neil is going to have to find his mental facilities in time to drop underperforming players to give Norwich a chance of winning, if he doesn’t, I don’t hold much hope.
Anyway, here are five things I expect to see….
Diego Costa to score
Costa has been on fire since Guus Hiddink took over and with Norwich’s defensive form, Costa could find it easy to get on the scoresheet.
Alex Neil to forget he has substitutes
Every single week we seem to see how Alex Neil doesn’t know how to utilise subs. He makes them far too late and they never have any impact, no positive one anyway.
Even if we are 1-0 down at half-time and it clearly isn’t working for a player, he will still leave them on until the 90th minute when we are losing 3-0 to bring on a better player.
Expect this to happen against Chelsea.
Late goals
Norwich have conceded far too many goals in the last five-ten minutes of games this season. West Ham home and away, Leicester away, Liverpool at home and countless others.
Chelsea scored a late winner at the weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised if they get another on Tuesday.
Howson to be one of our best players
I don’t think I can actually remember the last time Jonny Howson had a bad game. He has been one of our players of the season and seems to always have a decent game. It will be tough for him against the talents of Chelsea but I expect him to cope well.
Jerome to miss a sitter
Alex Neil seems to have some strange love for Jerome, even though he’s clearly not good enough, so I expect him to start.
This means that he will get a couple of chances in front of goal. That in-turn means Jerome is likely to miss a sitter and no one would be surprised…..
