Norwich make bid as Bamford pushes for Chelsea switch
Norwich are currently waiting for an answer from Chelsea as they make an offer to sign striker Patrick Bamford on a permanent deal, according to the Mirror.
The highly rated English youngster, who is also a target for fellow Premier League strugglers Swansea, is said to be keen on a move from Stamford Bridge.
He recently agreed to cancel his loan spell at Crystal Palace due to frustration over a lack of game time, and the situation hasn’t gotten any better now he faces competition from the likes of Diego Costa and Alexander Pato.
But the current Premier League champions would only be willing to sell the England Under 21 international if they were given a buy-back clause, to ensure they get first choice to sign him if he was to fulfil his potential in Norfolk.
He is currently playing for the Chelsea Under 21s side, as he would not be eligible to play for another Premier League team this season if he was to feature for the Blues.
It may go down to deadline day as Norwich look to bolster their options up front since selling Lewis Grabban to Bournemouth earlier in the month.
