Declan Rudd - 4
Declan Rudd’s first poor game for City as the Diss-born conceded four avoidable goals (because Adam Lallana’s was a beauty), however many of these goals were not his fault (rant incoming in two slides) and were due to defensive errors. He did however, seem almost afraid of Roberto Firmino.
Ivo Pinto - 6
This debutant showed plenty of talent and potential for the rest of the season, looked impressive and (for a team who shipped five goals) did very well in defence. Certainly earned himself a start against Tottenham if anyone else did.
Russell Martin - 2
It didn’t take Jurgen Klopp to work out who my hyped-up rant would be about. This Scottish “fella” (Can’t swear!) was at fault for virtually every goal, and don’t even get me started on his back-pass that lead to James Milner’s goal; absolutely shocking from him. He is not a Premier League player and CERTAINLY not a Premier League captain. He has to be dropped and a defender will have to be purchased; I don’t mind if Klose or Bennett replaces him, but he has to go. It’s a shame because he seems like a great person but unfortunately, not such a great footballer.
Sebastien Bassong - 4.5
The Almost Hero:
It felt harsh to give him a four, but kind to give a five, so here we are.
His beautiful (almost point winning) goal saved his rating slightly in what was a rather poor performance, he was solid to be fair to him. He has shown he is a rock, but he lacks pace and can find himself left in the dust in counter-attacks.
Robbie Brady - 6
Was probably the best defender on the pitch, showed character going forward and tried his best in defence, the five conceded cannot be blamed on him. Not much else to say on the Irishman.
Graham Dorrans - 5
Wait; he played!?
Had a very silent game and didn’t impact the match, filling in for Alex Tettey (who you feel we were lacking) who called in sick early in the morning. Get’s a five because he wasn’t at fault for conceding, but didn’t help scoring either.
Jonny Howson - 5.5
Had a solid game, like Dorrans, he didn’t do too much. But was definitely more noticeable and passed the ball well, attempting to create chances.
Nathan Redmond - 4
The fact he doesn’t have a photo from the game only helps prove my point.
He was very quiet and had a poor game, failing to supply crosses and struggled to get past Nathaniel Clyne, who played very well. He was deservedly substituted for Matt Jarvis with twenty minutes to go, who played better than Nathan during his time on the pitch.
Steven Naismith - 7
Notice how most of the attackers have higher ratings than the defenders?
“Naimar” scored a brilliant debut goal, against his ex-rivals and had excellent movement on and off the ball, he was less rampant in the second half and ended up getting substituted late on for Jerome, but otherwise; an excellent debut and I expect a lot to come from him this season.
Wes Hoolahan
A big improvement from recent performances; scoring Norwich’s first penalty of the season and setting others up. He showed his worth with skill and creativity in a very good attacking side. He proved his worth to the doubtful Norwich fans today, despite still losing the game.
Dieumerci Mbokani - 8 (My MOTM)
Was a threat going forward, scoring a beautiful backheel equaliser which brought Cameron Jerome’s goal against Nottingham Forest back to our minds, he had skill and created many chances, paired brilliantly with Naismith in a brilliant attacking team.
