Norwich City target Sam Byram is set to leave Leeds this month after Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino told The Mirror that he would be sold this month.
Cellino has announced that Byram is for sale due to the fact that he wants to leave the club and his contract expires in the summer. With Byram refusing to sign a new contract, Leeds have been forced into selling the player.
We just want to sell Byram because he wants to leave.
It is better to lose him now. It is less painful for the club.
Byram has been linked with a switch to Norwich following speculation that Leeds want to sign Kyle Lafferty from the Canaries and a possible deal which would involve the two players swapping places has been touted.
Norwich have signed a number of Leeds players over the years; Jonny Howson, Bradley Johnson, Luciano Becchio and Robert Snodgrass are all players to make the switch from Yorkshire to Norfolk in recent years and now Byram could be the next in line to join Alex Neil’s side.
