Norwich City comfortably dispatched West Bromwich Albion 3-0 to advance to the last sixteen of the Capital One Cup. Fringe players, including new-signing Dieumerci Mbokani and the out-of-favour Kyle Lafferty both made appearances for the Canaries, but it was Matt Jarvis who struck first. Latching onto a well-weighted Mbokani through-ball, the West Ham man hammered in off the under side of Lindegaard’s crossbar. Kyle Lafferty replaced Lewis Grabban and almost instantly made his mark, slotting home clinically following O’Neil’s clever pass. The Irishman nearly got a second, and most thought he had, however replays showed that in fact the ball went off Pocognoli for an own goal. It was, however, his run that caused the problems for the defender.
Norwich will now face Everton at Goodison Park in the next round of the cup.

The sun set beautifully over Carrow Road before the 19:45 kick-off.
New floodlights meant the Carrow Road pitch was extra luminous, as was City’s subsequent performance.
Alex Neil opted for Andre Wisdom at right-back. Along with the rest of the defence, he was very solid.
Looking good in yellow, Dieumerci Mbokani. Although there were a couple of chances he should have done better with.
Elliott Bennett was disappointed with his missed opportunity, which came about after O’Neil’s deflected shot struck the post.
ON FIRE: Jarvis bagged himself his second Norwich goal, latching on to Mbokani’s through-ball before firing off the bar and in.
Matt and Mbokani: The two celebrate their combination for City’s first.
Martin Olsson was given a full ninety, helping his match fitness ahead of Saturday’s game where he’ll be required to play due to Jarvis’ ineligibility.
Bennett: No you lean in first
McCleary: …..No you lean in first

All going to plan: Neil is impressed with what he sees.
Who’s Laffing now? Northern Ireland’s superstar strikes gold for Norwich.
It was a frustrating evening for the Baggies, whose night got worse when Pocognoli put the ball in his own net.
Lafferty thanks the fans after the match. He hopes he made enough of an impression.
